Pay only for editors
Viewers and reporters are free and unlimited on every plan — that's the whole point of issueboard. The only thing that costs money is an editor seat: someone who gets assigned work and edits issues.

What each role can do
| Role | Cost | What they can do |
|---|---|---|
| Editor | $8 / month (Pro) | Be assigned work, create and edit anything, manage projects and triage. Admins are editors with org management on top — same price. |
| Viewer | Free, unlimited | Read everything they have access to, comment, follow issues, watch the roadmap. |
| Reporter | Free, unlimited | File issues via form link, email, or chat; see and comment on their own reports; get notified when their issue ships. Magic-link sign-in, no account setup. |
Pricing questions
Who counts as an editor?
Anyone who can be assigned issues, edit any issue, or manage projects. Typically that means developers and hands-on PMs. Org admins are editors too — with member, API and org management on top — and count as paid seats the same way. If someone only needs to read, comment, or file issues, they fit the free viewer or reporter roles and never count toward your bill.
Are viewers and reporters free on the paid plan too?
Yes. Viewers and reporters are free and unlimited on every plan, including Pro. The per-editor price is the entire bill — there are no per-feature add-ons and no separate charge for intake, triage, or guests.
When does billing actually start?
Billing launches later in the beta. Until then everything — including what will become Pro — is free. When billing starts, we will give existing organizations clear notice before anything is charged, and the free tier stays free.
Will the free tier stay free?
Yes. Unlimited viewers and reporters are a permanent principle of the product, not a promotion. The free tier is meant to be genuinely usable for a small team, not a trial with a countdown.
Do features get gated to higher tiers later?
The pricing model is editor seats, not feature gates. Things like the triage inbox, intake forms, and customer references ship in the base product. We may add genuinely enterprise capabilities (like SSO administration or audit exports) as paid extras later, but the whole-team workflow will not be moved behind a tier.
Can I pay annually or in a different currency?
Pricing is listed in USD per editor per month. Annual billing and regional pricing options will be finalized when billing launches during the beta.
